Tesla's release of the Cybertruck has seen several delays since its announcement. But, the long wait is over since the EV company has finally put down a delivery date for the vehicle, which could happen in late November if all things go well.
If you want to order Tesla's upcoming pickup truck early, you can pay a $100 reservation fee that's fully refundable in case you change your mind. The company describes the car as having "better utility than a truck with more performance than a sports car."
The vehicle is designed to protect its riders from outside forces. Its exoskeleton is made of Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless steel, along with Ultra-strong glass and polymer-layered composite that is able to redirect force from the impact.
The Cybertruck is able to carry up to 3,500 pounds payload capacity and adjustable air suspension, as well as lockable storage. It has six seats including the driver with additional storage under the second-row seats.
It is equipped with an advanced 17" touchscreen with an all-new customized user interface. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, which is in line with the company's claims of it having more performance than a sports car.
As for other utility capabilities, the truck can tow up to 14,000 pounds. According to Car and Driver, the price for the EV truck may change from its initially announced cost of $40,000 due to the inflation from the past three years.
With three electric motors available, the single motor can cost up to an estimated $60,000. The dual motor could reach up to $70,000, while the tri-motor can go as high as $80,000. With the uncertainty of prices, it bodes well for buyers that the reservation fee is refundable.
