When we're watching sci-fi movies, a lot of the technology in those films is pretty much non-existent. However, some of the devices that were considered high-tech from movies released decades ago already exist now, so who's to say which sci-fi movie elements will be invented a few years from now?
1. 'Ready Player One'
For any gamer, "Ready Player One" is the dream as it lets them participate in a game in the most immersive way. With AR/VR goggles, handheld controllers, and maybe even a haptics suit, you can basically live in the Oasis apart from eating and bathroom breaks.
We are already on our way to that reality, especially with tech giants like Meta and Apple in a race to make the best AR/VR headset. There are also haptic suits that can be purchased so you can feel every impact you encounter in a game.

2. 'I, Robot'
In the movie starring Will Smith, the world in the future has humanoid robots that can cater to human needs, as well as self-driving cars that can take you anywhere you want. Both those either already exist or are already being developed.
For instance, Tesla already has full self-driving cars. There's the issue of it being linked to accidents, but that may just mean that there's room for improvement. As for automated humanoid robots, a lot of companies are already working on models, including Tesla called "Optimus."

3. 'Passengers'
This is one of those far-future scenarios that we hope doesn't happen, but it doesn't mean that's not possible. Due to Earth becoming inhabitable after the collapse of its biosphere, a small number of humans are put in hibernation pods to travel to another planet.
Since any life-sustaining planet could be light-years away, it will take more than one lifetime before we can reach a destination, so like the 5,000 passengers on the ship called Avalon, humans might be put into a coma-like state until it's time to wake up and step off to a new planet.

4. 'Wall-E'
The movie "Wall-E" is actually a lot like the movie "Passengers," except that in this robot-centric film, humans don't travel to another planet. Instead, they reside on a giant ship called The Axiom and wait until Earth heals itself so it can be safe to live in it again.
But really, the more possible upcoming reality for humans is reliance on machines. As seen in the movie, humans have become so lazy since there is now a machine that does everything for them. That, in turn, has left everyone obese and oblivious to their surroundings.

5. 'Replicas'
We're still far from human cloning and transferring a person's consciousness into robots, but we never really know what the future holds when it comes to technology. However, we do know that there are those with the desire to live forever.
Humans have already successfully cloned animals such as Dolly the Sheep. While it's a far reach to transferring our minds, the technology for brain-computer interfaces already exists. It might even be possible to train an AI model based on a person's personality and cognition.
