EA initially announced the Iron Man game in 2022. Motive Studio has been busy with the release of their remake Dead Space earlier this year. With the new game already out in the public, the studio confirmed that the team has shifted its priority towards the Iron Man game.

Motive's GM Patrick Klaus revealed that the game is currently in pre-production as the team is taking its time to make sure that they have the "best possible foundation for development." The Iron Man team is also looking into various story, design, and gameplay opportunities that they can integrate within the game.

On the other hand, Klaus also unveiled that they have chosen Unreal Engine 5 as the official game engine for the Iron Man game. The GM hopes that Epic's engine will empower the dev team in creating the game.

The upcoming Iron Man game is a single-player, third-person, action-adventure game that is based on one of Marvel's mightiest heroes. The game development team is led by Oliver Proulx who is known for working on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Proulx is joined by industry veterans such as Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier at Motive Studio.

"Their experience delivering both established entertainment worlds and thrilling gameplay - combined with their authentic passion for the armored icon - will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game," Marvel Games' VP and Creative Director Bill Rosemann stated.

Motive Studio promised to create a new and unique story for Marvel fans while featuring the original narrative that explores the history of Iron Man and the genius of Tony Stark.
