Nokia 'Normandy' press image leaks, showing Windows Phone-inspired Android UI

A new image of Nokia's Android powered 'Normandy' smartphone has leaked. The photo shows a Windows Phone-inspired UI and brightly colored Lumia-like casing.

With each passing day, it seems that more and more information and images regarding Nokia's not-so-secret Android 'Normandy' smartphone are revealed. We've already seen some images leak showing off the smartphone's lock screen, phone application, and Skype app. It is believed that the 'Normandy' is running a modified version of Android, similar to Amazon's Kindle Fire, which means it will likely not have access to Google services such as the Play Store and other apps. A new image shows what appears to be the smartphone's home screen, complete with a Windows Phone Metro-inspired UI and more.

The generally-reliable evleaks has once again given the world a glimpse at an unannounced smartphone. The tipster has already provided us with some images of the Nokia 'Normandy' and now we have a new image of the smartphone, which shows us its Android home screen that looks very reminiscent of Windows Phone's Metro UI. The image also shows that the handset shares a very similar design to the Lumia series, complete with a brightly colored case in tow.

As you can see from the above image, matching up to precious leaks, the 'Normandy' is a dual-SIM smartphone. The home screen shows some of the installed apps, which include its Phone app, Messaging, Contacts, App Store, Twitter, Skype, Nokia Music, Plants vs. Zombies, and Nokia camera app. Previously leaked images have shown the handset running Android 4.4.1 KitKat and a display with a resolution of 854 x 480. The device is reportedly packing a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, dual-SIM support, and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The image above also matches previously leaked images showing the smartphone with a single "back" button where the Windows Start button appears on Lumia handsets.

Some insiders claim that the 'Normandy' was killed off when Microsoft decided to acquire Nokia, but with the amount of leaked images and new details making their way online, it's hard to believe this project is really dead. Of course, we'll have to wait to hear something from Nokia to know the full details, but we'll be sure to keep you up to date with any new information regarding the Nokia 'Normandy'.
