AT&T is now offering two of its most popular smartphones for the very low price of $0. The LG G2 and Motorola Moto X are both free for a limited time.
If you're looking to start out the New Year by being more organized with a top-of-the-line smartphone, AT&T may have just what you need. The carrier has announced that it is now offering two of its most popular smartphones at a very attractive price: $0. Let's start with the 5.2-inch Full HD and quad-core processor packing LG G2, which is now available for free instead of its normal $99.99 price when signing a new 2-year contract.
As a reminder, the LG G2 features a gorgeous 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS edge-to-edge display. While a 5.2-inch display falls into large smartphone territory, LG designed it so that it can be used one-handed and the company claims it's the largest display on the market to have this feature. It also added another unique touch, placing the power and volume buttons on the back of the smartphone instead of its sides because the company conducted research and found that's where you fingers are naturally located when holding the device, which makes one-handed operation even easier.
The handset uses the 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. It ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with some LG exclusive software and enhancements. You'll also find a high-end 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chat. In terms of wireless connectivity options, you'll find a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, and GPS. The LG G2 has 32GB of internal storage and packs in a large 3,000 mAh battery.
AT&T is also offering the Moto X for free when signing a new 2-year contract. The Moto X is Motorola's current flagship smartphone and users are able to control the handset by simply using their voice, even while the Moto X is asleep. You can ask current weather conditions, have messages read to you, get driving directions and more, all without ever having to touch the smartphone.
As a reminder, the Moto X features a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 HD AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Motorola's X8 Computing System on board, and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU). It has 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. AT&T's free deal does not include the Moto Maker customization, which means you'll have to choose between the standard black or white model.
Motorola has also packed a 10-megapixel CLEAR PIXEL rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, with the ability to record 1080p HD video. You'll also find a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, which has the ability to capture 1080p video as well. The smartphone's wireless connectivity options include 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with LE and EDR. It has a 2,200 mAh non-removable battery that will get up to 13 hours of talk time and 10 days of standby time.
You can order the LG G2 or Moto X from AT&T for free when signing a new 2-year contract. This offer expires Jan. 31.
