Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo LTE SM-N7505 passes through the FCC

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo LTE has just made its way through the FCC, indicating the 5.5-inch phablet will be making its U.S. debut in the near future.

It looks like 2014 is shaping up to be the year of the phablet, as Apple is rumored to be entering the large smartphone territory as well. The company that started it all isn't going to sit back and watch its rivals attempt to stake their claim in its territory, however; Samsung is planning on adding more members to its growing phablet family. Similar to how Apple released a repackaged iPhone 5 in the cheaper-to-manufacture iPhone 5c, Samsung is doing the same with its Galaxy Note 3 Neo.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo is now expected to make its U.S. debut in the near future, as the device has just received its all-important FCC certification. The certification lists the device with model number SM-N7505 and reveals that it is packing LTE bands that support U.S. 4G LTE networks.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo will feature a 5.55-inch 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 256 pixels per inch (ppi). It will be powered by the industry's first hexa-core processor, which just happens to also be Samsung's own Exynos Hexa-Core processor. The new processor uses two 1.7GHz cores and four 1.3GHz cores, which allows all 6-cores to be activated at the same time, resulting in high speed processing along with power saving capabilities. It will also use 2GB of RAM to keep things running smoothly.

Samsung will reportedly use an 8-megapixel rear camera that will support recording 1080p Full HD video and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing Full HD camera for video chat. The Galaxy Note 3 Neo is expected to ship with 16GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64GB microSD cards. Its wireless connectivity options will consist of a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy), NFC, GPS, and an IR blaster that will use Samsung's WatchOn service to control televisions (similar to the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3). The phablet will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Samsung's TouchWiz UI, and it will also use a large 3,100 mAh removable battery. Since it's part of the Galaxy Note family, it will include enhanced S Pen functionality with the same features found on the Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Note 3 Neo at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, which takes place Feb. 24 - 27 in Barcelona, Spain. We'll be bringing you complete coverage of all of the exciting mobile news coming out of the show, so make sure you stay tuned.
