The billionaire posted on Tuesday that the proceeds will go to hospitals in Israel and the Red Cross and Crescent Movement in Gaza.

It remains unclear how Musk will transfer the funds to its beneficiaries.

" We should care about the innocent regardless of race, creed, religion or anything else," Musk said in a following post.

The announcement came amidst Musk and X is under criticism for promoting Anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi content on the platform.

Several major brands have suspended advertisement campaigns on the social network.

Elon Musk's Troubles with Anti-Semitic Speech

The past week has seen Musk come under fire for reposting Anti-Semitic posts as "the actual truth."

Media watchdog Media Matters also published a report the same week, claiming that product ads appear next to "content that touts Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party."

Notable brands such as Disney, Apple, IBM, and Warner Bros. have since paused their ads running on X.

The White House also criticized Musk for the state of the platform, while Tesla investors called for the suspension of their CEO for his "hateful speech."

Musk, in turn, filed a lawsuit against Media Matters for tarnishing the platform's reputation.

Elon Musk Involvement in the Gaza War

Musk earlier promised to provide connectivity to recognized air organizations in Gaza via his Starlink satellite.

Aid groups have been struggling to communicate with the outside world after the Internet connection was cut off in the war-torn region.

Before announcing his aid, the billionaire has been noted to encourage X users to follow accounts known to post "fake news" for Gaza War updates.

Several US lawmakers accused Musk of profiting from premium accounts that push violence against Israelis.

Lawmakers noted that offensive content remained live on social media despite having already been flagged as harmful.
