What is a Bloatware?

In simple terms, bloatware refers to programs, apps, and software not necessary to you or for the computer to function properly and just consume precious storage and processing space.

It can be anything from a simple file you have forgotten to delete or a pre-installed function you never use. Whatever it is, it consumes space and holds down your computer from reaching its full potential.

It is recommended to remove them to keep the computer healthy and functioning well. However, not all bloatware can be safely removed or is too important to delete.

So here are some of the bloatware on Windows 10 and 11 you may want to delete if you don't need them anymore:

  • 3D Viewer
  • Clipchamp
  • News
  • Mixed Reality Portal
  • Phototastic Collage
  • PicsArt Photo Studio: Collage Maker and Pic Editor
  • McAfee LiveSafe
  • WinZip
  • TripAdvisor
  • WPS Office
  • Evernote
  • Norton Internet Security

While some of these software sound like they provide user safety and privacy from internet viruses, most also collect user data and even have tons of annoying pop-up ads. Just like a virus.

Regularly updating your Windows program provides much better protection and privacy than the pre-installed free antivirus software.

You can also disable pop-up features on your desktop since that also consumes processing space when you hover your mouse over.

How to Safely Remove Bloatware from PC

Important reminder: do not install apps that say they can automatically remove bloatware from your devices. Most have aggressive programs that scrape through user data in the computer.

It is much more secure if you just manually remove this software on your own. It only takes a few simple steps to accomplish.

The best way is just right-click the Start/Windows button, and access the Apps and Features. There, you can just uninstall apps you don't want or software that consumes large space.

Another option is going to the computer settings and turning off the Recommend Apps option. Put the diagnostics to Optional to stop receiving updates from essential app bundles you never use. Windows have a lot of those.
