Beeper Mini introduced iMessage's Blue Bubbles on Android through reversed engineering, making it possible to bring the exclusive messaging feature of iPhone to any device.
Beeper Mini's Blue Bubbles
Beeper Mini is a standalone Android app that enables users to send and receive blue bubble messages with iPhones. It boasted similar chat functions from iMessage like typing indicator, read receipts, full-resolution attachments, emojis, and more.
Once you install the app, your Android phone number will automatically register as blue instead of green on the iPhone. Now Android users can easily join iPhone-only group chats through their phone numbers.
Most importantly, Beeper assured that its app does not depend on a Mac relay server, making it possible for end-to-end encryption. Moreover, no Apple ID is required as the app does not have any connection to the Apple account.
Beeper Mini Highlights Modern Chat Features
According to its developer, the company focused on making a bridge app that is fast and capable of modern chat features. "We simplified the experience to be clean, modern, and straightforward, and we brought our favorite features of blue bubbles to Android through Material Design," the company wrote in a blog post.
The Beeper Mini app is already available on Google Play Store and offers a seven-day free trial. After the trial, users will be charged $1.99 per month to support the further development of the app.
Meanwhile, many are questioning the market longevity of the app. For now, CEO Eric Migicovsky firmly believes that he is on the right side of the law as there is no Apple code in making the Beeper Mini.
