A24 struck a multi-year streaming deal with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), allowing its movies to be released exclusively on HBO, Max, and Cinemax.
A24 Brings Indie Films to WBD Platforms
The streaming deal will officially bring popular indie film movies to the WBD platforms once it ends its theatrical run. Among the films that will be available are "Priscilla" by Sofia Coppola, "Dream Scenario" by Kristoffer Borgli, and "The Iron Claw" by Sean Dunkin.
"Continuing our relationship with A24 to bring award-winning movies alongside recent fan favorites to subscribers adds incredible value to the HBO and Max value proposition," EVP for content acquisitions in WBD, Royce Battleman shared.
Subscribers will have access to a wide range of A24 films that span more than one hundred titles. It will also include popular films such as "Everything Everywhere All at Once", "Uncut Gems", "The Whale", "Past Lives", and more.
A24 Moves Forward
The WBD sees the extended licensing deal as a way to deliver a diverse range of stories through A24's film titles. Battleman also hopes that the partnership will have a profound impact on their audience.
Previously, A24 had a licensing agreement with Showtime in 2019 but the agreement expired earlier this year. The expiration would leave the indie film studio without a digital home. Few weeks after that, WBD offered the studio a home.
Other upcoming titles such as "Love Lies Bleeding" and "Civil War" will also be available on the WBD platforms soon.
