ZTE Optik 2 budget tablet comes to Sprint for $29.99

Sprint has announced that it is now offering the ZTE Optik 2, a 7-inch tablet with a quad-core processor and Android Jelly Bean, for $29.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.

As the tablet market continues to grow, more and more families are adding multiple tablets to their household. Sprint realizes that adding multiple tablets to a household can be expensive and there are some people who want a tablet but don't want to shell out a couple hundred dollars to bring a new slate home. The wireless carrier has announced that it is now selling the ZTE Optik 2 through its online store for the very low price of $29.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.

The Sprint ZTE Optik 2 features a 7-inch WSVGA 1920 x 1200 display and is running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. It's powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. The tablet ships with 8GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 32GB microSD cards.

Its camera capabilities include a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, camcorder, and flash, as well as a 2-megapixel front facing shooter for video chat and selfies. The ZTE Optik 2's wireless connectivity options consist of a 3G radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and integrated GPS. The tablet can serve as a mobile hotspot and will support up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices. It is packing a large 4,000 mAh battery and its dimensions are 7.6 x 5 x 0.45 inches (193 x 126 x 11.5 mm) and weighs 13.31 ounces (377.1 grams).

Even though the Sprint ZTE Optik 2 is a budget tablet, it comes with stereo speakers that will make watching movies, YouTube videos, listening to music, and more even more enjoyable. You can choose data plans starting as low as $5 for 25MB or as high as $79.99, which includes 12GB of data.
