The Outlast Trials is Finally Arriving on PS5, Xbox in March

The Outlast Trials is officially coming to PlayStations and Xbox consoles this coming March 2024, after developer Red Barrels confirmed the news.

The Outlast Trials on Gaming Consoles

Earlier this year, the co-op multiplayer game quickly gained popularity for PC gamers. It was also voted as one of the best horror video games for 2023, making it a much-awaited title for consoles.

Following its PC debut success, the Red Barrels shared the good news with console players. Starting March 5, the game will be available to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Gamers can also start to pre-order the game through its official website.

Moreover, the game devs shared that the release will support a cross-play wherein fans can team up with their friends, regardless of their platform. The Outlast Trials can be played alone or in groups of up to four people.

The Outlast Trials Will Have No Cross-Progression

Unfortunately, the game will not support cross-progression. This means that players from another console would have to restart their progress once they transfer to another platform. Some games have started to allow cross-progression as many gamers are fond of playing while switching from one platform to another.

This announcement came as a surprise for many fans who were hoping for a cross-progression. The Outlast Trials is a heavily progressive game wherein each completed trial opens more challenges and segments. Hence, players from PC could have possibly progressed before the announcement.

For now, fans can only enjoy the cross-play support which will allow them to bond with their friends without needing to play on the same console or PC.
