Virgin Mobile has a very attractive deal in place, selling the iPhone 5S for $494.99 and the iPhone 5C for $404.99, both unlocked.
Apple sells the unlocked iPhone 5S for a $650 starting price, and the iPhone 5C for a $550 starting price.
The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are Apple's latest smartphones, but any Apple fan knows that an iPhone does not come cheap, especially if you want to purchase it unlocked.
Virgin Mobile is now dropping 10 percent off the unsubsidized iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, marking the lowest prices yet for these two smartphones. With this new deal, interested buyers can save roughly $150 per iPhone. While the two iPhones are available unsubsidized from Virgin Mobile, the carrier does tout some very competitive plans on Sprint's 4G LTE network. Such plans start at $30 per month, which would offer unlimited text and data.
Apple's latest iPhones have stirred plenty of interest since their launch back in September, as they sport some intriguing features.
The iPhone 5S is the company's new flagship smartphone and it comes with high-end specs and features that make it worthy of the title. One of the most-touted features of the iPhone 5S is its fingerprint scanner called Touch ID. While at first this feature raised quite some controversy and security concerns, many grew fond of it and it has actually proved to be a trend-setter. HTC followed Apple's lead and launched its One Max phablet with a fingerprint reader as well, Samsung is expected to pack a fingerprint scanner its next-generation Galaxy S5, and LG is also rumored to launch its LG G Pro 2 (the successor to the Optimus G Pro) and the LG G3 (the successor to the LG G2) with fingerprint scanners on board. Other companies are expected to follow suit as well.
The iPhone 5C, meanwhile, is a lower-specced smartphone with a more affordable price tag. It comes in a colorful range of choices and sports a plastic body to accommodate the (slightly) lower price tag. This model, however, was not as popular as the flagship, mostly because consumers expected it to be cheaper.
If you're interested in a new iPhone unsubsidized, you may find Virgin Mobile's offer quite appealing. The 16GB iPhone 5S costs $494.99, the 32GB model costs $584.99, and the 64GB version goes up to $674.99. The iPhone 5C costs $404.99 for the 16GB model and $494.99 for the 32GB variant. Virgin Mobile is also offering the 8GB iPhone 4 for $159.99. This offer is available exclusively online and Virgin Mobile notes that it's a limited-time deal, but doesn't mention when it will expire.
