In light of its new terms of service regarding "artistic nudity," Twitch is banning accounts in groups as the "topless meta" flooded the video-streaming platform.

Several streamers, including art accounts, reported being suddenly suspended for violating its "nudity sharing" rule. Many of the accounts affected were Vtubers.

Both art and mature accounts with big followers received the ban hammer soon after the policy was implemented, according to ban records in Streams Charts.

Some banned accounts were eventually reinstated but many remain in suspension as they wait for Twitch to reconsider its ban.

Twitch Allows 'Artistic Nudity' on the Site in New Sexual Content Policy Update

The video-streaming site recently got flak from the internet after it updated its sexual content policy to allow "artistic nudity" on the site.

The new 'topless meta" will let accounts stream illustrations of fictionalized female sensitive parts, body writing on exposed breasts and buttocks, and erotic dances "such as strip teases."

Livestreams that contain "deliberately highlighted breasts, buttocks or pelvic region" will also be now allowed on the site.

The platform later posted a clarification for "streamers to feel confident they understand our rules and viewers to feel confident they will get the experience they expect."

Streams labeled with "Sexual Themes" in its Content Classification Label will not be recommended on the site's homepage. This does not include "popular dances such as twerking, grinding, and pole dancing."

Twitch launched the CCL back in June to monitor stream content on its platform and catch rogue accounts.

Advertisers Response on the New Twitch TOS

It remains uncertain if advertisers will remain on Twitch following the TOS update.

Many internet users anticipate that the new rules will push major brands from the new dominant community on the platform.

Twitch, which was owned by Amazon, has been known to present multiple ads during streaming on top of the accounts' own promotional content.

Most seen ads were from Amazon-related products and services.
