Boost Mobile is now offering the prepaid (ZTE) Boost Max, a 5.7-inch HD phablet wrapped in aluminum for $299.99.
In a sign of the phablet's continued growth in popularity, Boost Mobile is now offering the ZTE Iconic Phablet. ZTE just showed off the smartphone at CES a few weeks ago and the company already has at least one carrier supporting its phablet ambitions. The device has a clear target and that would be anyone considering the 5.7-inch and more expensive Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The ZTE Iconic Phablet has made it way to Boost Mobile and received a name change to Boost Max. Thankfully, Boost Mobile only changed the handset's name and not some of its impressive features. The Boost Max retains the same aluminum design that made the ZTE Iconic Phablet one of the most talked-about smartphones at CES. Its main feature include a very spacious 5.7-inch 720p HD IPS display that will make doing things like watching a movie, reading a book and others feel like you're not doing it on a cramped smartphone.
The Boost Max is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM to keep things running smoothly. It ships with 8GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot to increase available space. Its camera capabilities include an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and self-shots.
When it comes to wireless connectivity options, you'll find a 3G/4G LTE radio that supports Sprint's 3G and 4G LTE network, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. It has a large non-removable 3,200 mAh battery that will provide up to 16 hours of talk time.
ZTE didn't only want to make its phablet look great, the company also made sure it sounded great as well. The Boost Max benefits from having Dolby Digital Plus support, which provides a more realistic and immersive sound experience. ZTE also added some software enhancements such Smart Viewer, which allows you to run two apps simultaneously on a split-screen view.
Boost Mobile is offering the Boost Max for $299.99 and its Monthly Unlimited plan starts at $55 per month, which includes unlimited talk, text, and data.
