We knew LG was going to unveil its LG G Pro 2 phablet next month likely at the Mobile World Congress and now images of the 6-inch smartphone have leaked.
With the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 less than a month away, we're already beginning to see reports on an almost daily basis of what will be announced. It's unclear if Samsung has any plans of actually unveiling the Galaxy S5 during the show as some reports claim. HTC is rumored to launch its flagship smartphone of 2014 at the conference, which is currently referred to as the HTC One+ or HTC M8. LG has already confirmed it will launch the G Pro 2 next month and many believe the company will use MWC as its stage to show off its Galaxy Note 3 competitor. New images of the 6-inch device have leaked ahead of its official unveiling.
The images were posted on the Korean forum DC Inside and show what appears to be the LG G Pro 2. The smartphone looks like a larger LG G2, complete with the smartphone's signature Rear Key concept positioned below its camera. LG recently came up with the Rear Key feature, which places the volume and power buttons on the back of the device because most people's fingers naturally lie there when holding the smartphone. This new layout also allows people to use the device better with one hand. No other information about the LG G Pro 2 was posted.
LG has already confirmed its upcoming LG G Pro 2 and the company says it will officially announce the device in February. The G Pro 2 is expected to boast a 6-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. It will reportedly use a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 3GB of RAM. It will also pack in a LTE Advanced radio for faster network speeds.
Recent reports have also claimed that LG will follow Apple's lead and will ship the LG G Pro 2 with a fingerprint scanner. Fingerprint scanners seem all the rage these days, with HTC following Apple by adding a biometric reader to its HTC One max phablet and Samsung rumored to include a fingerprint scanner with the Galaxy S5.
The LG G Pro 2 won't become official until next month, but enjoy these newly-leaked images in the meantime and let us know what you think.
