If you are planning to get the Rocksteady Studio's Suicide Squad game on the Epic Games Store, you might need to wait a little longer.
Epic Games just announced that it will be delaying the release of the platform's version of the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League by a month.
Both Rocksteady Studios and Epic Games have not given any reasons for the delay. The announcement comes two months before the game's scheduled release on Feb. 2 next year.
For those who pre-ordered the game, a confirmation email will be sent to notify the cancellation of the order. Rocksteady is also offering cancellation and refund options on its website.
Suicide Squad will still release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Steam on the original launch date. The early access also retained the Jan. 30 schedule.
Why is the Suicide Squad Delay Worrisome?
The delay on the spin-off game for the Batman Arkham series has been met with concerns from many fans of the game.
Eight years since Arkham Knight released, Suicide Squad has met with several delays over the past years.
The first trailer for the game was released over two years ago, while the date announcement was only made in April this year after it was moved from the scheduled Spring 2023 release.
Rumors have also been circulating after Rocksteady co-founders Jamie Walker and Sefton Hill announced that they are leaving the studio during the initial production of the game.
Rocksteady Studios has already released the game on the closed alpha test last month. Not much news has been made since.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gameplay and Story
Centering around the misfit group of criminals, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League features Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot Captain Boomerang tasked to take down the corrupted Justice League and Brainiac.
Recent clips of the game shows similar traversal mechanics seen in the Batman Arkham games and a much more airborne combat system.
Trailers indicate that the game will be open-world, much more expansive than Batman: Arkham Knight, with multi-player game modes.
