Lowe's Now Accepts Apple Pay

Before the announcement, Lowe's is one of the two large hardware store chains in the U.S. that does not accept Apple Pay. Since last week, customers have been noticing the good news that Lowe's has finally opened a cashless option for payment.

Aside from Apple Pay, the company has now adapted tap-to-pay support for contactless credit and debit card payments. According to a Reddit post, Lowe's employees were notified of the changes, stating that the new payment options will be available starting December 20.

For a while now, many Lowe's customers have been complaining about the company's lack of support for Apple Pay. Likewise, employees have also been asked daily about the availability of tap-to-pay and Apple Pay options in their stores, making it a constant headache for both sides.

Apple Pay on U.S. Retailers

Apple Pay is almost a decade old after it launched in 2014. Currently, about 85 percent of U.S. retailers are accepting this type of payment. However, there are still big retailers that refuse to offer the service to their customers like Home Depot and Walmart. As for other retailers, they have previously established CurrentC as a merchant-owned payment system but the system was discontinued.

Many retailers are now applying Apple Pay and many customers have already adapted to the tap-to-pay and contactless payment. As for Lowe's, it was a much-awaited announcement for its customers as many have been expecting it to be released for their convenience when buying at the stores.

With the new payment method available at Lowe's, the store is expected to boost its sales and customer numbers as its competitor Home Depot is yet to accept the payment technology at this time.
