The HTC M8 will reportedly launch in late March and its design will be very similar to the HTC One.
Over the next couple of months we're going to see the unveiling of two smartphones that just so happen to be two of the most anticipated smartphones of 2014. Samsung has scheduled an Unpacked 5 event on Feb. 24, where the company is expected to launch its flagship Galaxy S5. It's unclear when HTC will announce the M8, but if we're going to go by a yearly release, the HTC M8 should officially launch around the same time. The HTC One was the star of the show at MWC 2013, winning the highly-coveted 'Best Mobile Device' award. The HTC M8 will reportedly launch in March.
"Starting to look like a late March launch for HTC M8," tweeted the always-reliable @evleaks. It's unclear if the reported date is its release date or unveiling date. Last year HTC was on a mission to ship the HTC One ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S4, even boasting several times that its impressive smartphone would hit carriers ahead of Samsung's device. HTC had to later announce a slight delay of the HTC One due to manufacturing issues. The delay is believed to have cost the company many customers who didn't want to wait and instead upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The tipster also sent out another tweet matching previous rumors about the design of the HTC M8.
"So, yeah, the M8 looks strikingly like the M7. It's too bad they already named another phone One S," added @evleaks.
The HTC M8 is expected to look very similar to the HTC One, with some reports claiming the differences are on the level of the iPhone 5 to iPhone 5s. The HTC M8 will reportedly launch in 4 colors and will retain the much-loved aluminum unibody case of the HTC One. The smartphone is also expected to include a fingerprint scanner below its upgraded UltraPixel rear camera. It is also expected to ship with a 4.9 - 5-inch 1080p Full HD display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and an updated version of HTC Sense.
We'll keep you updated on all HTC M8 news as we get more information, but take it with a grain of salt for now.
