Final Fantasy Fans Welcome Dawntrail Expansion
During the recently concluded fan fest in Tokyo, fans were treated to a preview of the full trailer for Dawntrail wherein Pictomancer was revealed as the upcoming Caster DPS Job. Krille Baldesion was chosen to hold new Job's powers using the magical paintbrush and palette.
By the end of the trailer, the game finally revealed the last playable race for Final Fantasy XIV, featuring a female Hrothgar. Known as the daughter of Tural's leader, the character is set to debut on patch 6.65 on January 16.
More details on the female Hrothgar were revealed during the keynote speech. Yoshida introduced the new character who also stems from the Ilsabard continent and despite their small population they are known to be natural leaders.
Final Fantasy XIV's Female Hrothgar Receives Warm Feedback
In contrast to the male Hrothgar, the females do not have hunched backs but are known to be sleek and muscular. For a while, there have been issues with the visible headgear of the Hrothgar and Viera, which Yoshida assured will be addressed in Dawntrail.
Many fans expressed their excitement with female Hrothgar citing that it was accurate to what they imagined the character would be. On the other hand, Yoshida kept the door open for fans to make future suggestions in the game.
Square Enix is yet to announce the release date for the Dawntrail Expansion. As of writing, Yoshida only confirmed that it will be around summer 2024.
