The CES 2024 has officially started. The biggest tech companies in the industry showcased their latest products and innovations.
Amid the bright dazzle of the new gadgets, one aspect of the convention received the true highlight across all presentations.
Majority of the mainstream tech and equipment featured in the CES 2024 use AI or have AI integrated into its features.
CES 2024: More AI-Powered Gadgets Unveiled
The names of Microsoft, OpenAI, and ChatGPT became common knowledge in the convention as the AI was integrated into almost anything.
From home appliances to cars, an AI system is somehow added to help "streamline" the product for the user's convenience.
Samsung is the center of the AI discussion with the majority of the products it introduced being powered by AI models.
Most notable are the return of its Ballie robot, now a mobile projector with an AI system to replicate a pet, and an interactable household map with an AI assistant to notify its users.
Samsung's presentation at the convention reflects its announcement of integrating AI systems into its Galaxy devices ahead of the CES 2024.
Other big names in the industry have also showcased products equipped with high-end technology. The technology usually refers to an AI assistant.
Sony did the same with the long-awaited Afeela EV, integrating a more advanced AI system to support the electric car that has been under production for four years now.

Where is OpenAI and Sam Altman in CES 2024?
While AI is the dominant topic at the convention, it is worth noting the absence of OpenAI or its controversial CEO Sam Altman.
Microsoft, one of the leading tech firms in the industry and OpenAI's biggest investor, has already made its appearance at the convention to promote its Copilot chatbot.
It even announced the addition of a new dedicated key for Copilot on Windows 11 a few days before the convention. The feature was scheduled to debut at the convention.
However, no signs of OpenAI can be seen throughout despite its product ChatGPT being touted by several tech startups for their newest AI-powered products.
It is uncertain why the poster child for the AI boom would miss the event as the company has been reported to be working on secretive projects, Reuters reported.
Reuters likened Altman to the late Steve Jobs, reminiscing of his presence in the trade show as the frontrunner of innovations.
Nonetheless, whether he will make his appearance or not, this event is truly been made in thanks to the trend OpenAI started. Whether it is for the good or bad of the tech industry remains a question for another time.
