The "Star Wars" franchise announced that they are already working on the second season of "Ahsoka", the confirmation came from creator Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm.
The news came after they revealed that Jon Favreau is directing a new "Star Wars" film called "The Mandalorian & Grogu."
'Star Wars' Franchise Continues "Ahsoka" for Season 2
When "Ahsoka" launched at Disney+, the show received good feedback from the "Star Wars" fans. With the first season only ending last October, it is quite a surprise that the second season is already confirmed.
Starring Rosario Dawson, Ahsoka is one of the fan-favorite Jedi who was first introduced in the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." Meanwhile, Ahsoko made her first live-action appearance in the second season of "The Mandalorian" and "The Book of Boba Fett."
The first season of "Ahsoka" focused on her journey as she tries to prevent the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn after the Empire has fallen. The final episode of the season saw how Ahsoka, Wren, and Huyang are trying to live in their new home on Peridea.
'Star Wars' Will Return to Cinemas Featuring the Mandalorian, Grogu
Based on the announcement, the new "Star Wars" film will go into production sometime this year. "The Mandalorian & Grogu" will be produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Filoni.
"Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into 'Star Wars' two new and beloved characters and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen," Kennedy explained.
Disney+ is also preparing for the arrival of another "Star Wars" series such as "The Acolyte" and the second season of "Andor."
