Verizon to begin offering Nexus 7 on Feb. 13?

A new report claims Verizon will get a new 7-inch tablet, as the carrier may reportedly start offering the Nexus 7 on Feb. 13.

When Google announced the Nexus 7 in July 2013, it announced both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 4G LTE models. If you're a Verizon subscriber and have been patiently waiting for the Nexus 7 to make an appearance on your network, you'll be happy to know that the carrier will supposedly offer the 7-inch tablet on Feb. 13.

Droid Life is reporting that reliable sources have told the site that Verizon will begin offering the long-delayed Nexus 7 next week. The site suggests that the tablet will likely go on sale on Feb. 13. So far there's no word on how much Verizon plans on charging for the Nexus 7.

The ASUS-made Google Nexus 7 is currently one of the most popular Android tablets on the market. The slate brings a 7-inch Full HD display and powerful quad-core processing to a tablet that is guaranteed to get Android updates whenever Google releases them.

As a reminder, the Nexus 7 features a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 HD IPS scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass display with a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch (ppi). The tablet ships with Android 4.4 KitKat and includes 16GB of internal storage. It is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 2GB of RAM to provide a fast and fluid user experience.

Its camera capabilities include a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. Google has outfitted the Nexus 7 with stereo speakers with surround sound and Frauhofer audio technology. Its wireless connectivity options consist of a 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC. The tablet also includes a microUSB port and a Slimport for 1080p HDMI output. The slate has wireless charging capabilities out of the box and ships with a 3,950 mAh battery that lasts for up to 9 hours of active use, 9 hours of HD video playback, 10 hours of web browsing or e-reading, and 300 hours of standby time.

We'll have to wait for Verizon to make things official, but it's pretty safe to assume that come next week, you'll be able to buy a Nexus 7 from Verizon.
