We already know that some AAA titles aren't always perfect during release and require a few bug fixes to remove minor inconveniences, but some issues are just unforgivable especially if you paid $100 for early access and the developers shave time off of what you paid for to fix the game.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Goes Offline
Game prices are starting to get absurd nowadays where publishers can charge you up to $99.99 just to play the game ahead of others for three days, and that's the case for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. Some players are willing to pony up for that advantage.
Unfortunately, they might not be getting their money's worth as Rocksteady, the developer behind the title and other Arkham games, is taking the game offline in order to fix a major bug that prevents some players from enjoying the game.
As for what the major bug is, the early access Deluxe Edition in some zones already has a completed campaign, so there's not much to do anymore. In response to this problem, Rocksteady has taken the servers down.
You'd think that players will still have something to do even if that's the case, but since the game is still just a live service, players won't be able to play the game at all. It's still unknown how long it will take before the games are back online, but that's time wasted for a short early access period.
The latest update from the devs states that they have already identified the problem that was affecting player profiles and are already testing a fix. "We hope to implement it and have the game back online as soon as possible."
That still doesn't change the fact that they're not holding up their end of the bargain. Of course, they still get to keep the perks that come with the Deluxe Edition such as cosmetics and the one-time token for the battle pass upgrade, as per Kotaku.
What Do You Get from the Early Access?
There are also several other benefits aside from the battle pass token and the three-day headstart. The Suicide Squad Digital Deluxe Edition is available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 for $99.99 across all platforms.
Buyers will get Justice League outfits, three notorious weapons, squad golds weapon dolls, four color watches, and a pre-order bonus such as the classic outfits. For PS5 users, they will get an exclusive pre-order bonus such as rogue outfits, according to GG.
For some, these might be enough to justify the price, but for others, they purchased the game just for the purpose of playing it early. If you're one of the people who placed the order for the latter, then you'll just have to wait until the developers finish up their patches.
The devs did say that it would take several hours. Optimistically, the game will be back online within a day so the early access won't be shaved down to just two days, but that's not a guarantee.
