Verizon customers have a new high-end Windows Phone on their network. The Nokia Lumia Icon is now available and the Microsoft store is bundling it with a free wireless charging pad.
When rumors began to pop up that Nokia was working on two high-end Windows Phone devices for AT&T and Verizon, it was believed both smartphones would hit store shelves around the same time. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, as AT&T launched its 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet back in November. Verizon took its time with what would be its next flagship Windows Phone and officially announced the Nokia Lumia Icon a few weeks ago.
The Verizon Nokia Lumia Icon comes packed with high-end specs, including a gorgeous 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display and powerful 2.2GHz quad-core processor. It also ships with Nokia's iconic 20-megapixel PureView camera. If you want to get a great deal on the Verizon Nokia Lumia Icon, the Microsoft Store is now offering the smartphone with a free wireless charging pad for $199.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. This deal expires on March 16, 2014, and is not available if you make your purchase through Verizon.
The smartphone features a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 ClearBlack AMOLED Gorilla Glass 3 display with Super sensitive touch that allows users to operate it even while wearing gloves, and a very impressive pixel density of 441 pixels per inch (ppi) will render quality visuals. The handset is powered by a powerful 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM to provide a snappy user experience. The smartphone ships with 32GB of internal storage and 7GB of free cloud storage, but has no microSD card slot.
Nokia ships the Lumia Icon with a high-end 20-megapixel PureView rear camera with advanced imaging functions to guarantee that you always get the best photos possible. Such features include optical image stabilization (OIS), Dual LED Flash, ZEISS optics, 6-lens optics, high resolution zoom 2X and Nokia's professional Camera application. The smartphone also has a 1.2-megapixel HD camera for video chat and selfies. Its wireless connectivity options consist of a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC. The Icon ships with a 2,420 mAh battery that will provide up to 16.4 hours of talk time and 18 days of standby time. The smartphone also comes with support for wireless charging out of the box.
If you choose to purchase the $199.99 Verizon Nokia Lumia Icon through the Microsoft Store, you will also receive a free wireless charging pad that normally costs $49. This offer is good until March 16, 2014, so you have some time to decide if you want to make the Lumia Icon your next smartphone.
