Microsoft is reportedly working on a new AI feature that would enhance running PC games on Windows 11, according to a newly discovered test build.
The suspected feature bears similarity to NVIDIA's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) feature for GeForce RTX graphics cards.
Microsoft Works to Improve Gaming on Windows
Microsoft has been having issues with its slow gaming performance in Windows 11. Regardless, the company has been continuously working to improve the operating software by bringing features for PC gamers.
The Verge reported that the company is preparing to launch its own DLSS-like AI feature for PC gamers. X user PhantomOCean3 shared his discovery suggesting that version 24H2 will have an AI "super resolution" feature.
If this is true, this means that Microsoft is developing an AI feature that will upscale the games and improve frame rates along with image quality. AMD and Intel have been offering their own variants which have proven to be popular with recent PC game releases.
Microsoft Promises Improved Color Management for Windows 11
Although the company has yet to confirm the AI feature discovery, Microsoft has already announced that it is now working on improving the color management feature for Windows 11.
The enhancement will particularly benefit users of OLED monitors that make use of HDR. Windows has been trying to catch a good OS-level color management system for years which prompted PC gamers to resolve it on their own through custom color profiles.
"Auto color management makes sure your apps and other content have accurate colors on this display," Microsoft announced. Meanwhile, PC users will also be allowed to set color profiles for sRGB and DCI-P3.
