Baldur's Gate 3 is continuing to prove that it is worthy of its 2023 Game of the Year title after recording a $90 million profit for its publisher Hasbro since it first launched in August last year.
Wizards of the Coast, the company licensing Baldur's Gate, provided a 10% revenue growth for Hasbro amidst a full-year decline in the parent company.

Baldur's Gate 3 is now currently on its "Hotfix #17" with an average player count of over 160,000 last January on Steam.
The game is rated with an "overwhelmingly positive" response from 500,000 reviews for its PC version.

Hasbro Suffers Revenue from Writers', Actors' Strike
Despite the profit growth provided by Wizards of the Coast, Hasbro's financial growth has been on a downturn across other businesses, mainly due to the writers' and actors' strike last year.
The company listed the two consecutive strikes, which lasted for a total of seven months, as cause for 31% decline in its Film and TV sector.
Its Family Brands revenue was also down by 6%. The total operating loss is estimated to be at $1.846 billion.
Hasbro has been among the entertainment companies largely hit by the strikes as fears of unrestricted AI and unpaid royalties affecting people's livelihoods were raised.
The company has earlier forecasted a lower revenue for its Film and TV departments since August as intentions to fully leave Hollywood were hinted.
The company's last live-action film was "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" which earned $341.2 million, down by half in comparison to the previous "Transformers" title.
What Made Baldur's Gate 3 Hit with Many People?
Despite competing with established titles like Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, and Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the game managed to become an instant hit to many and retained a large audience even after months since launch.
Many players attribute the game's success due to its "replayability" and providing enough freedom for players to devise their own strategies to finish the story just like in actual Dungeons & Dragons.
It also came out when the gaming community has been complaining of lackluster stories in many AAA games as studios push for better graphics.
With many dialogues to choose from, the majority of which are intended to be funny, it comes as no surprise that many players find the game enjoyable.
