Samsung is considering adopting AI technology into its Galaxy Buds to provide live translations and automatically switch calls for Android devices, as reported by 9to5Google.
According to reports, the AI translator will have a similar function to the Live Translate feature in the recently launched Galaxy S24.
Samsung is also planning to have Android automatically switch the playing device during phone calls if it is connected to two devices simultaneously.
After the call ends, it will seamlessly switch back to the previous media playback. All of these features are expected to roll out sometime in late February.
Google has launched a similar feature with Pixel Buds Pro and it works as intended.
Samsung Continues AI-Powered Features for 2024
Reports of AI technology in the Galaxy Buds are only the latest part of the Korean phone maker's plan to incorporate more AI into its products. Samsung is really putting the "smart" in its smart devices.
Samsung, ahead of the CES 2024, announced that it will push for more AI-powered tools across its devices that will be released in the following months.
As proof, the majority of the features in the Galaxy S24 use some sort of AI technology for "empowering everyday experiences."
This is in addition to the smart devices for the home that were adapted with the same technology, even equipping it into the home mapping for all connected Samsung devices.
The decision to leverage more AI into its arsenal was initially prompted by following the AI boom when all of its competition like Apple and Google started developing their own AI models for their phone series.

Future Samsung AI Projects
Aside from the live translation and automatic switch calls, Samsung is planning for other AI-led projects for its products soon, according to 9to5Google.
Among those are the Auracast feature and 360 audio for immersive listening on TVs, allowing Galaxy Buds to connect with devices other than phones, tablets, and computers.
Of course, Samsung is also seeking to "open up new possibilities" with mobile AI as it reviews feedbacks from its users.
