Best Buy has been running a big iPad Sales Event for the past two weeks, offering some neat discounts on virtually every version and configuration of Apple's tablets. The discounts applied to various iPad models have seen some great fluctuations during this promotion. Overall, the iPad Air has generally received the biggest price cuts, and interested buyers can currently save up to $79 when purchasing the tablet from Best Buy.
When it comes to the smaller iPad Mini with Retina display, however, Best Buy has faced some inventory limitations, as well as overwhelming consumer demand for the slate. As a result, the retailer hasn't been able to offer whopping discounts on the more compact Retina iPad Mini, but today tells a different story.
For today only, i.e. Wednesday, March 12, Best Buy is offering the iPad Mini with Retina display for $80 off, bringing the starting price down to $449.99. Previously, the best deal that was available for any iPad Mini didn't top $50 off.
The iPad Mini with Retina display is the second generation of Apple's smaller tablet, and it has enjoyed great success from the very beginning. The slate sports a high-end 7.9-inch Retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536, it packs a powerful Apple A7 processor and M7 motion coprocessor, and it also boasts ultra-fast Wi-Fi 802.11n with MIMO technology.
Best Buy is not offering any discounts on the 16GB model of the tablet, but the rest of the Retina iPad Mini versions are now available at considerably lower price points. For the Wi-Fi-only models, the retailer is offering the 32GB variant for $449.99 instead of the usual $499.99, the 64GB version of $549.99 instead of the regular $599.99, and the 128GB model for $649.99 instead of $699.99.
The Wi-Fi + 4G LTE versions of the iPad Mini with Retina display, meanwhile, are now available with heavier discounts. The 32GB model costs $549.99 instead of $629.99, the 64GB version goes for $649.99 instead of the regular $729.99, while the 128GB model is now $749.99 instead of the usual $829.99.
