Samsung has seemingly confirmed the release date for its upcoming Galaxy A55 and A35, albeit with a few disappointing news.
According to Sam Mobile, the new Galaxy A series installments, set to roll out on March 11, will not receive the seven-year software and security support Samsung promised for its Galaxy phones.
Instead, the phones will only have four years of software updates and five years for security. As of writing, the seven-year commitment remains exclusive to Samsung's flagship Galaxy S24 series.
Galaxy A55, A35 Misses Out from Samsung AI Hype Train
Both Galaxy A55 and A35 is also expected to miss out on all the advanced AI functions in One UI 6.1 Samsung has touted earlier due to being restricted by its less powerful processors.
The One UI 6.1 debuted along with the Galaxy S24 last January, boasting powerful AI features for camera and performance to compensate for its somewhat limited functions outside of AI.
Samsung Galaxy A55, A35: What We Know so Far
Although the Galaxy A55 and A35 are yet to officially launch, some information on the devices was already made available to the public.
An advertisement video from Samsung India was posted ahead of its release date endorsed the Galaxy A sets as "awesome" devices with water- and dust-resistant design and low-light photography.
A Belgian telecom also seemed to leak specs for the phones before Samsung did, GSM Arena reported.
According to the official images uploaded, the devices will be running on an Exynos 1480 processor with 6GB RAM And 128GB storage
Screen display is expected to be bigger than the Galaxy A54 at 6.6 inches diagonally.
The main camera will retain the previous model's 50-megapixel quality, while the front will have 32 MP.
