Netflix Welcomes Hades Mobile Game This Month

Netflix is launching the mobile version of the popular indie game Hades on March 19.

Hades made its debut in 2020 for PC and Nintendo Switch. The release was then followed on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Netflix Adds Hades to Mobile Game Catalog

Despite being an indie game, Hades won the 2020 Game Award for Best Action Game, proving its popularity among gamers. The mobile version of the game is now available for pre-registration, as per Netflix's announcement.

Hades was developed by Supergiant Games and intended for PCs and consoles. In a statement, Netflix shared that the game will have "uncompromised gameplay for mobile." It will feature 60FPS performance, redesigned menus, and interfaces.

In addition, the mobile version will have fully customizable on-screen controls. Hades will also allow cloud saves for progress and achievements, along with offline play support.

Hades follows the story of Zagreus, the son of Hades the God, as he tries to escape hell to meet his mother, Persephone. Players are expected to get a journey filled with fast-paced action and adventure.

Netflix Continues to Expand Mobile Gaming Agenda

Hades is just one of over 80 mobile games under Netflix's mobile gaming catalog. The streaming giant started to invest in gaming in 2021 as a way to boost revenue and monthly subscriptions.

Currently, subscribers can access big and indie titles on the mobile app such as Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: The Definitive Edition, OXENFREE II: Lost Signals, and more. In addition, some original Netflix shows are developing their own games like "Squid Game," "Virgin River," and "Rebel Moon."

The streaming giant is also looking forward to release other familiar titles like Katana Zero, Braid Anniversary Edition, Paper Trail, and Monument Valley.
