The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update in Canada on Bell, Rogers, TELUS, and WIND Mobile.
The update was expected to start rolling out on Canadian shores on Monday, March 17, and it now seems that it has already hit several Galaxy Note 3 devices in the country.
According to a new report from Mobile Syrup, the update is now ready for Galaxy Note 3 owners on Bell, Rogers, TELUS, and WIND Mobile, with several users reporting they have already received the chocolaty treat.
The update package reportedly weighs in at 437.05MB and is rolling out for all of the aforementioned carriers now. Keep in mind that updates roll out gradually, which means that it may take a few days for the new KitKat version to hit all Galaxy Note 3 devices in tow. As always with such updates, it is recommended to download the new firmware via a stable Wi-Fi connection and make sure that your device has plenty of battery life to successfully complete the update download and installation without interruptions.
The update process should complete by the end of the week for all Samsung Galaxy Note 3 devices on the aforementioned carriers. If you haven't received the update yet, you can always manually check for its availability by going into your device's Settings > About phone > Software update. If it's ready, you will see a notification that a new firmware version is available. If there's still nothing there, you'll just have to wait a little bit longer for it to reach your device.
Currently no complete changelog is available for this update, but it should bring the same features and improvements we already heard about, including the new white status bar icons, enhanced messaging, the ability to choose Hangouts as the default messaging app, cloud printing support, and many others.
