If you've been on social media a lot, you might have heard or seen references about Andrew Tate, who has been referring to himself as Top G. Before his previous case was even solved, the Tate brothers were arrested yet again for alleged plans of escaping Romania.
Escape Plan Foiled
Andrew Tate learned the hard lesson of choosing who you confide with, especially when it comes to plans about escaping the country he was legally bound to stay in. Adin Ross, a streamer and a friend of Tate's, revealed the escape plan to his users.
Ross stated that Andrew Tate contacted him, saying that he would be leaving Romania soon and would probably never come back. "If you want to come over and do a week of long streams and content before I leave, I think it'll be big," he added, and that it was "now or never."
With the streamer accidentally revealing that Tate was planning to leave the country soon, a tip reached the law firm representing the women who filed a lawsuit against the Tate brothers, resulting in the authorities arresting the self-proclaimed misogynist again, as per Kotaku.
A spokesperson for the brothers said they had no intention of fleeing Romania to avoid court proceedings, and that Ross simply misconstrued the message that was sent by Andrew Tate. Regardless, Tate is already behind bars.
Predictably, the social media influencer accused of sex trafficking and rape already took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend himself. He even hosted an "emergency meeting," which was exclusively on the video platform Rumble.
In a post, he stated: "The Matrix is afraid, but I only fear God," with the Matrix being a metaphor for social order. In a clip edit, the arrest was even referred to as an "obvious Matrix attack from the UK."
Court Decision to Keep the Tates in Romania
Back in late January, a Romanian court rejected the appeal issued by Andrew Tate, which would've granted the freedom to leave the country legally. With the rejection, the previous ruling to keep him in Romania will be upheld after he was charged with human trafficking among other crimes.
After Andrew Tate, his brother, and two Romanian women were arrested, the social media influencer continued to deny the allegations against them. He claims that the prosecutors have no evidence against him, as reported by The Guardian.
He even pushes the narrative that the arrest was a political conspiracy to silence him. As for what Tate preaches, his posts have been flagged for hate speech and misogyny, leading to him being banned from most social media platforms.
Authorities have also seized many of Tate's assets, including 15 luxury cars, 14 designer watchers, and money in different currencies that amount to around £3 million. This was after Tate won an appeal that challenged the seizure of his assets.
Romania's anti-organized crime agency expressed that should Andrew Tate be proven guilty and that the assets were gained through illicit activities, the confiscated belongings could serve as compensation for the victims of his alleged crimes.
