Fans were quick to notice a reference to the popular episode "USS Callister" from the show's fourth season. The teaser video showed a logo for the USS Callister starship. The fans' guess was also confirmed

Netflix shared another hint about the premise "USS Callister" sequel episode, stating that "Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning."

'Black Mirror' 'USS Callister' Episode's Popularity

The episode of "USS Callister" is just one of the most praised episodes in the series. The story gained popularity due to its unique premise and storytelling. It was also the opening episode for the fourth season, making it a strong starter for "Black Mirror" back then.

The "USS Callister" followed the story of Robert Daly, a talented programmer who co-founded a popular multiplayer online game. He recreated "Star Trek" in a game and used his co-workers' DNA to produce digital clones of them.

The episode still holds a Rotten Tomatoes approval rating of 95%, a high score despite its lighter narrative compared to other darker episodes of the series.
