A prominent leaker revealed that Persona 6 will be released on the next-generation Nintendo Switch console, possibly breaking the series' PlayStation exclusivity.
There are also rumors suggesting that other RPGs from Atlus such as Persona 3 Reload will debut on Switch 2 once it launches.
Persona 6 Possible to Release on Switch Console
The claim came from a prominent Sega leaker Midori, who had an extensive accurate track record for its leaks in 2023. According to Midori, Persona 6 will be launching on multiple platforms, including the upcoming Switch 2 console.
In addition, Midori also shared the possibility of having two other Atlus RPGs to launch on the same console. This includes the recently released Persona 3 Reload and the upcoming Metaphor Re: Fantazio.
The rumors were also fueled since Persona 3 Reload director Takuya Yamaguchi stated before that the team is open to porting the game to Nintendo if there is a successor console. If Midori's predictions become true, Switch 2 will have an impressive JRPG catalog upon its launch.
Persona Games to Embrace Multiplatform
Over the years, much of the Persona games have been known for their exclusivity to PlayStation consoles. The series continued that way until 2022 and 2023 when some of the mainline Persona games were ported to multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch.
For instance, the launch of Persona 3 Reload was met with praise for its multiplatform launch. However, it did not include support for the existing Switch model.
Many rumors surrounding the release of Switch 2 have been plaguing the internet for a while now. Some of the news even suggested that Nintendo is targeting to launch it sometime in 2025. If those are true, Persona 6 would still be months away.
