Ubisoft Foward 2024 Might Bring Big News for the Assassin’s Creed Franchise

Ubisoft Forward is one of the anticipated annual events for game announcements, and the video game giant's event is taking place this June. Fans of the Assassin's Creed franchise might be happy to know that there could be huge announcements about its games.

Ubisoft Foward 2024

The company already said that it is "all in" with the Assassin's Creed franchise, which was already good news in itself for fans of the games. However, gamers might also be happy to know that a new AC title might be slated for a 2024 release as well.

It's a bit unbelievable given the time frame when Ubisoft usually releases Assassin's Creed games. For instance, Origins was released in 2017, Valhalla was released in 2020, and Mirage, the latest one, was released last year.

That consistently puts three years in between releases, but if the rumors are true, we might be seeing another title in just a year. If it's true that the latest game, particularly Assassin's Creed codename Red will be released this year, then it would likely be covered in the Ubisoft event on June 12th.

Assassin's Creed Red is said to be set in feudal Japan, which means that the protagonist might take on the role of a shinobi or samurai. To add to that, there are also other titles in the works that might also be mentioned during Ubisoft forward 2024.

As mentioned in Game Rant, some of the codename titles that are reportedly being developed include Assassin's Creed Jade, Hexe, Invictus, Nebula, Raid, and Echoes. There are even rumors of a Black Flag remake.

All the other upcoming video games have very little information about them. Assassin's Creed Jade is said to be set in China, while Assassin's Creed Hexe might be about the Salem witch trials when countless were accused and burned at the stake.

Assassin's Creed Red

Given that Red is the one closest to release, there are more rumors about the game that are circulating online, a lot of which are interesting enough to hype up fans of the franchise. Based on the trailer alone, fans are confident that it will be taking place in feudal Japan.

There's more, of course. Video game designer Marc-Alexis Cote said that the game will "let players explore one of their most-awaited settings ever," as per Games Radar, given the popularity of the shinobi or samurai fantasy that gave success to games like Ghost of Tsushima.

Some rumors also say that there will be two protagonists, which is a female shinobi called Naoe who is related to real-life ninja leader Fujibayashi Nagato, and an African samurai called Yasuke, who is also based on a real-life figure.

The map is said to be bigger than Valhalla's but will still be smaller than Odyssey's. It might also change the mechanics of the parkour systems, which is one of the biggest parts of all the Assassin's Creed games.

It might include equipment like a grappling hook, which was already introduced in Syndicate, as well as the usual Japanese weapons and gadgets like kunai, shuriken, and more. The hideout might also be customizable based on the player's liking.
