Viral videos are all the rage nowadays, so much so that the contexts from older videos or memes are still referenced until now. It's not easy to reach a massive audience, and it's not just about how good your content is. You need to understand other factors that would push you to be the next big content creator.
1. Look for a Niche
Don't just make a certain kind of content just because everyone is doing it. Find something that you're good at and go from there. By creating videos that fall under the same category, you will attract more viewers who are interested in the same topic or theme. You can branch out once you've already established a footing in one niche.
2. Make Relatable Content
There are billions of people in the world, so there is always something you can post that someone will relate to. If you want to reach a wider audience, post about something that is generally experienced or felt by a lot of people. For instance, if your niche is about gaming, post funny skits about the game that everyone is playing.
3. Use Keywords
Keywords are important since they will determine whether your videos will pop up when people search for certain topics. You can add them in captions, hashtags, and descriptions. You can look into the videos famous content creators post online and study the format in which they title and describe their videos.
4. Research Active Hours
You need to learn when people are most active, depending on where your target audiences are. Generally, social media users are most active at night, between 9 PM to 11 PM, although that might not be the case for people you're making content for. It's best to post new content when people are online. Newer content will just be posted on top of yours if you post too early or late.
5. Hop on the Bandwagon
Trending topics are trending for a reason. People like the content and they will likely look for more of a similar nature. If your niche doesn't match the current trends, you can always just make one or two for the sake of exposure. This can lead to users stumbling upon your profile or channel and finding that they like the other content you make.
6. Keep It Short
Of course, this will depend on the kind of content you aim to make, but if you can help it, keep it as short as possible. Short-form videos have shortened the attention span of an average social media user, so they tend to prefer shorter videos. It would be easier for you anyway, and you can always make more videos about the same topic.
7. Collaborate with Others
You can choose to make content with established content creators for exposure. This way, their followers and other audiences can discover you and your followers will also discover them. You might have to work a little more in getting followers for yourself before someone chooses to collaborate, but some creators don't mind working with newer creators.
8. Encourage Viewers to Engage
Engagement in your content such as likes, comments, and reposts is essential to making your content show up more on feeds. Some creators provide incentives when viewers comment, like, or subscribe such as merch, freebies, shoutouts, and more. Sometimes, they hit two birds with one stone by asking their followers what kind of content they want to see next.
