Telegram Competes With WhatsApp, Messenger After Launching Business Features

Telegram introduced its business features, allowing users to transform their handles into a business account to get access to various e-commerce features.

Telegram Business offers various features such as opening hours, quick replies, automated messages, chatbot support, and more.

Telegram Business Rolls Out Merchant Features

Telegram has been allowing developers to create their bots and mini-apps which have been used by businesses. The Telegram Business offers an opportunity to explore these features without needing any coding skills.

For instance, merchants can show where to find their stores and when they are open and closed for a vacation. Businesses can also customize their start page according to their preferences on how to welcome their customers.

Businesses can also establish quick replies for frequently asked questions. This would help the merchants send the needed information with just a simple shortcut.

Telegram Business Integrates AI

The business feature will allow the sellers to connect bots that will answer messages on their behalf. They can seamlessly integrate any of their existing tools, workflows, or even add AI assistants to manage their chats.

"This opens a new era for Telegram Bots - we welcome all developers to create new services that will help businesses automate and improve their communication with Telegram users," the company wrote.

Users of the messaging apps will have access to the new business features in the coming updates. As of writing, Telegram Business features are only available for free to Premium subscribers. Telegram Premium is priced at $4.99 per month and is also available for three-month, six-month, and one-year plans.

Previously, Telegram founder Pavel Durov shared that the app is expected to become profitable by 2025 given its current users of over 900 million, with five million subscribers who are part of the Premium plan.
