The creators of Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London revealed that the project will not be available to consoles due to its big size.
The news did not come as a surprise as many fans have already predicted that the mod will not be possible to play on consoles.
Fallout: London Skips Console Support Due to Big Size
In a YouTube video by Team Folon, Dean Carter, the mod's project lead shared that the file is too large to be supported on consoles. The Fallout: London is estimated to consume around 30GB to 40GB.
Previously, fans have already speculated that the mod team will skip a PlayStation release due to its strict modding rules. On the other hand, many were hoping that Xbox would allow the mod to be released.
Carter confirmed that console support is now out of the question. In fact, the mod is already so big that it can't be released through Nexus Mods. Once finished, the release will be done through GOG for PC users.
Fallout: London Delays Launch After Fallout 4's Announcement
Despite the high anticipation for Fallout: London, the team decided to delay its release after Fallout 4 announced that it will soon release its next-generation update. The patch update on April 25 will include support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The team confirmed that the delay will prevent any potential breakage and issues to the mods after the update. Fallout: London is known for its ambitious scale that compares to the size of a DLC or sometimes bigger.
The April 23 release date will be on pause indefinitely. The team will have to watch out for the Fallout 4 update and check if the mods will still function after the update.
Fallout: London promised to introduce a large map similar to Fallout 4 plus the Far Harbor DLC. The mod is also set in the English capital and will focus on a new lore.
