Selfies are increasingly gaining momentum and a new project now boasts a S.E.L.F.I.E. mirror that takes your photo and uploads it on Twitter.
The Internet is buzzing with self-shots and all sorts of social media channels are inundated with selfies each day. Everyone has at least a few friends who always take photos of themselves and post it on Facebook, Twitter, or other channels, not to mention the abundance of funny collections of selfie fails available online.
While taking a selfie can help you immortalize a precious moment, sometimes it can be quite uncomfortable and the image is not as it should be. It's more difficult to get everyone in the photo if you're taking a selfie group shot, and it can also be difficult to get the right angle and everything you want in the photo.
A new project now comes with some great news for selfie fans, solving virtually all drawbacks of taking a self-shot. The "Self Enhancing Live Feed Image Engine," or S.E.L.F.I.E. for short, consists of a two-way mirror that takes your photo and posts it on Twitter.
S.E.L.F.I.E. comes from digital agency iStrategyLabs and houses a Mac mini, a web cam, and LED lights within the two-way-mirror, ready to capture your glorious shot with no hassle and share it with the world, reports Mashable.
"Meet S.E.L.F.I.E., the 'Self Enhancing Live Feed Image Engine.' Triggered by simply standing in front of the mirror and holding a smile, hidden LED's indicate a countdown, then simulate a 'flash' as your photo is taken. The photo is then automatically posted to Twitter (with a watermark/logo)," iStratetegyLabs explains.
In other words, all you need to do is pose in front of this magical mirror. As previously mentioned, the two-way mirror has a Mac mini inside, which has a facial recognition software installed. Once the software recognizes your face, S.E.L.F.I.E. will commence the photo taking process at once. Users will be able to tell when the photo will be taken by following the LED lights.
S.E.L.F.I.E. is still in an experimental stage at this point, but if you absolutely have to have it you can contact iStrategyLabs and acquire such a magical mirror for yourself. No pricing details are available at this point, but it will likely not come cheap. Selfie mirror, anyone?
