Google Play Store users are now able to download multiple apps at the same time once.

First reported by 9to5Google, the latest Play Store update now allows simultaneous downloads of up to two apps regardless of memory size and internet speed.

As of writing, the feature is only available for downloading and installing apps. Users will still have to update their apps one at a time.

A report from TheSPAndroid hinted that the feature could allow to five simultaneous downloads in the future, as indicated by the earlier beta version of the Play Store last month.

More Google Play Store Changes in the Future

The debut of simultaneous app downloads on the Play Store is only one of the first few changes expected to roll out in the platform in the coming months.

Earlier reports have indicated that Google is testing out several new features for Play Store, including upgrades in the uninstalling process that allows users to remotely delete apps on all connected devices.

Previews of its beta versions also hint that the tech giant is looking to phase out its search bar in favor of an entirely new tab dedicated to gaming app recommendations.

These are in addition to the AI-powered functions Google has been testing out on the Play Store, allowing the platform to highlight relevant apps from the deluge of imitations and low-reviewed apps.

Google Ditches Longtime Features on Play Store

As much as the tech giant is rolling out new features on Play Store, so does the removal of many longtime features users have long been accustomed to.

Recent changes in its app management have made it difficult to see all updates for its apps, especially on older devices and non-Pixel phones.

Several reports also noted that the platform is recommending fewer adblocker apps on its platform as Google cracks down on the feature in its move to further promote its premium ad-free subscription.
