Apple Signed Out Users From System

Many people on social media shared their login experience with Apple ID. According to the users, their Apple ID was logged out across their multiple devices, and were required to reset their password to gain access again.

In addition, users who enabled their Stolen Device Protection feature were also signed out of their accounts. The reports showed that the issue was random as some people were not affected. Regardless, it would have been dangerous for people who could have lost their devices at that time.

Some users have also reported that the wipeout extended to their app-specific passwords as well. The users had to reset their passwords and log on to each app to regain access.

Apple's System Status Reports No Issues

The widespread wipeout experience was reported to Apple Support, however, a company representative failed to give an exact explanation for the situation. Moreover, the company only responded that random security improvements are added to accounts.

Last month, some Apple users were targeted by phishing attacks after they were asked to reset their Apple ID passwords. 9to5Mac reported that the attack used an elaborate way of "push bombing or MFA fatigue", forcing users to reset their passwords.

Apple has yet to address and clarify if there are underlying issues with its services. As of writing, the System Status webpage of the company has not indicated any issues with its services.

Users who were affected by the Apple ID wipeout have started to regain access after following the steps given to them such as resetting their passwords and logging in on each app.
