If you play video games a lot, you've probably heard about the term "remastered." It means that the title is being redeveloped to get better graphics and mechanics, that take advantage of the current-generation devices. We've already seen a couple through the years, but some are yet to be shown some love. Here are a few.
1. Red Dead Redemption
A predecessor to the largely popular and applauded Red Dead Redemption 2, it follows the story of the outlaw John Marston. It is actually set after the events of the second game, and one could say that the graphics on the first is far from the second game.
Given that the 2018 title actually served as a prequel, people would be interested in playing Red Dead Redemption to see how events unfold after the Van der Linde gang parted ways, as well as how Marston is handling the life of a family man as he tries to stay on the right side of the law.
2. The Witcher 1 & 2
A lot of The Witcher players can tell you that they immediately jumped to The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt without even giving the first two titles any attention. With the gaming devices we have now, The Witcher 1 and 2 already appear outdated and janky.
Since the third game doesn't require players to know the backstory that much to make sense, it's okay to jump into it right away. However, people are missing good stories from the first two games that they might get to enjoy if the graphics match the current-gen graphics.
3. Fallout 3
Since the video game franchise has now become more popular because of the show, Fallout 3 deserves to be on this list. Other than new players, veterans are also returning to the game out of nostalgia. It would be a whole lot better if the game was no longer as clanky as it is.
Like all the other games, it is also an open-world RPG game, and it lets you explore the irradiated ruins of the world after all the bombings. It has been more than 15 years since it was released, and if a remaster is in Bethesda's plans, then it's long overdue.
4. Assassin's Creed
The game that made a lot of gamers fall in love with in-game parkour, Assassin's Creed is the very first game in an extensive franchise. Also released in 2008, the game is still considered to be a masterpiece by the people who play it now.
Just imagine what kind of recognition it would get once it matches the render quality of the more recent games, as well as having smoother movement for the playable character. Surely, those who get to live the life of Altair for the first time will discover how the franchise got to where it is today.
5. God of War (2005)
The God of War franchise has withstood the test of time, evidently, as it has been around for almost two decades. It started out with a demigod with an insatiable bloodlust to a father who would have tried to reform himself for his son.
Players who have been there since the beginning appreciate Kratos' development even more, and are also well aware of just how terrifying he can be if he is pulled into a fight. It would be nice to see the God of War in all his godly strength while was still unhinged, in 4K.
