SEGA Dreamcast-exclusive game, Rainbow Cotton, is now remastered after 24 years and will be debuting on Xbox on May 9.
The 3D rail shooter game will soon be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Rainbow Cotton Comes Back on Gaming Libraries After 24 Years
Rainbow Cotton was first introduced to the public in Sega Dreamcast in 1999 and it was later ported to other consoles like the PlayStation (PS) and PS2. The game was known for its vibrant and colorful gameplay which attributed to its popularity at the time.
After 24 years, ININ Games announced that the game will soon be available on various platforms. The 3D rail shooter game will first debut on Xbox consoles on May 9.
Meanwhile, other platforms such as PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam are yet to announce their launch date. The company promises improved graphics and controls that will be available to the players. Fully localized cutscenes will be featured as well on the remastered game.
Rainbow Cotton Brings Retro Games Alive
In an Xbox introduction, Rainbow Cotton was introduced as an arcade-inspired journey that comes in various stages. Players will encounter the cozy moonlit town, mysterious sunken forest, and magical castle above the clouds.
"Clothed in charming 3D graphics these levels include massive bosses as well as alternative routes to explore, guaranteeing high replay value," the game description read. ININ hopes that the game will receive a better reception than it did in 2000.
Rainbow Cotton is now available for preorders on Xbox Store for $19.99. Other games from the Cotton series have recently ported on Xbox as well. This includes Panorama Cotton and Cotton 100%.
