Acer is apparently getting ready to launch another budget-friendly tablet in the form of the Iconia B1-730 HD, a slate powered by an Intel processor.
The company has been releasing several budget-friendly Android slates recently, and it seems that it has more tricks up its sleeve. A new Iconia B1-730 tablet has been spotted online and it looks like this model will ditch the MediaTek chipset found on the B1-720 model in favor of an Intel processor.
As the name itself suggests, the upcoming Acer Iconia B1-730 HD tablet will come with an HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It will have a 7-inch display with IPS technology and is expected to come at a very affordable price point.
The folks over at Mobile Geeks have posted a slew of images of the yet-to-be-announced Acer Iconia B1-730, and it seems that the upcoming slate will boast a new design that looks better than the existing B1 lineup.
Based on these leaked images, the front of the tablet seems to have a wide bezel, while the rear of the device apparently sports a textured finish. In addition to these images, the source has also offered some information regarding the specifications of the Acer Iconia B1-730 HD.
The tablet will reportedly pack an Intel Atom Z2560 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, with dual cores. The slate will also have 8GB or 16GB internal storage configurations with microSD card slot for additional memory, but there's no mention of the amount of RAM it will feature. Other specs include a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 3,700 mAh battery to keep things up and running.
When it comes to launch dates, a new Phone Arena report claims that the upcoming Acer Iconia B1-730 HD will most likely make its debut next week, as Acer has a press event scheduled for April 29 in New York City. The company is expected to showcase its new Intel-powered budget tablet at that event. Although the slate is yet to become official, Amazon Germany has already listed the Acer Iconia B1 730 HD with a €139 price tag. In any case, we'll have to wait for Acer's official unveiling to know for sure, so stay tuned.
