Uber Shuttle Offers Cheaper Transportation for Travelers

Booking a ride is often difficult during live events due to the amount of foot traffic. Rides are also sometimes hard to come by at the location and often result in more expensive fares.

Uber is collaborating with local shuttle services to expand its ride-hailing option for live event-goers. This includes going to the airport, work, sports games, concerts, and more. Users can tip and rate the shuttle drivers directly on the Uber app.

The shuttle bus offers between 14 and 55 seats. Travelers can book up to five seats within seven days in advance. A QR code ticket will be sent to the passengers and they can track the shuttle's location within 25 minutes before departure.

Uber Shuttle will be available at select concert venues in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Miami's Hard Rock Stadium, starting this summer.

Uber Caregiver Streamlines Medical Needs of Patients

Uber Caregiver will follow a three-way chat that involves the driver, riders, and caregivers. Caregivers can book a ride on behalf of their patients and order medical supplies or groceries for them.

Uber also announced that the user's insurance benefits can be used to lessen the out-of-pocket costs. The Uber Health dashboard will be used to book rides and order over-the-counter supplies for the users.

Users can add a caregiver who will help them through the app. Uber said that this could be any trusted person over the age of 18.

Uber Caregiver will be first available to 65 and older customers with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid recipients, and commercial insurance holders from companies, starting this summer.
