Battery issues that have plagued iOS users after upgrading to iOS 7.1 still continue for some, even after the latest iOS 7.1.1 update.
Modern smartphones have become so complex that they far exceed the simple phone functionality, but all of those advanced specs, features, and functionality take a heavy toll on battery life.
When Apple released the first major update to its iOS 7 a while back in the form of iOS 7.1, many iPhone users started to complain about a dramatic drop in battery life, claiming that the battery drained much faster than before the update.
Apple released a minor iOS 7.1.1 update a few days ago aiming to improve several things, but there's a mixed response in what concerns the devices' battery life. The latest iOS 7.1.1 firmware update rolled out to compatible iOS devices to address a number of issues plaguing iOS hardware.
One of the biggest issues affecting iOS owners was battery life, which drained much faster after the previous update. Some users now claim that their device's battery performance has indeed improved dramatically after the latest iOS 7.1.1 update, but many others complain that the issue persists and their device still has poor battery life.
A number of threads on Apple's Support Communities forum register missed responses, with plenty of users claiming that their device still has battery drain issues even after installing the latest update that was supposed to fix things.
"I was hoping that the upgrade or update to IOS 7.1.1 would have a battery fix. I am still losing about 12% per hour on standbye. I have tried EVERYTHING - read as much as I could on internet 'Battery Life Fix' articles. If I turn off most of the Iphones functionalities then the battery does not drain - but then whats the point of having the Iphone by doing so," one user wrote on Apple's Support Communities.
While some users as the one cited above are still complaining of battery drain issues and 12% drops in battery life in just one hour, others seem to have gotten rid of this problem after updating to iOS 7.1.1. Another user, meanwhile, complained that their iPad was very slow followig the iOS 7 update, and performed even worse after installing iOS 7.1.1.
