Truecaller Users Can Rely on AI Voice Machines for Calls

Users of Truecaller Assistant can generate a voice clip inside the app which will be used to automatically answer calls on their behalf. The recording will be based on the user's own voice instead of an AI assistant from the company.

"This groundbreaking capability not only adds a touch of familiarity and comfort for the users but also showcases the power of AI in transforming the way we interact with our digital assistants," said Raphael Mimoun, product director and general manager for Truecaller Israel.

Truecaller first launched its AI Assistant feature in 2022, allowing an AI to automatically answer calls, take messages, and respond on a user's behalf. The partnership with Microsoft has taken it a step further to improve personal experience.

Microsoft Launches Personalized Voices Using Azure AI Speech

Aside from answering calls, Azure AI Speech can also be utilized for real-time speech translation. AI live translation has been one of the hottest features introduced to smartphone applications.

Skype recently shared a Truvoice Demo which is powered by the latest Azure AI Speech model. This allows users to have seamless conversations without minding language barriers. The speaker's natural voice will also be used for the translated version.

Microsoft assured the public that a watermark would be added to every speech output generated using personal voices. App developers can also enable a feature that will detect if a conversation uses Azure AI Speech.
