The increased exposure to water, sand, and heat could lead to irreparable damage to certain gadgets. Fortunately, the majority of the latest gadgets are equipped with materials that could keep them functional.

Regardless, there is no harm in learning a few sleeves up to your sleeves when faced with the summer heat. Here are some tricks to keep you and your gadgets in cool vibe this summer:

Invest in Gadgets With High IP Rating

Ingress Protection (IP) rating refers to the international standard classification assigned to gadgets to determine their protection. Make sure to get devices that are certified with an IP67 or IP68 rating, which indicates that they are water and dust-resistant.

Limitation on water exposure could sometimes be vague and confusing on some devices. To increase protection, you can purchase waterproof or water-resistant cases to ensure that your device will get its maximum protection even if stay at the beach.

Protect Devices With Shock-Absorbing Materials

Various shock-absorbing materials can be purchased to protect different types of devices. For smartphones and tablets, it is advisable to install glass screen protectors to prevent scratches and cracks even with rough handling.

You can also consider anti-glare protectors which help use devices in bright sunlight frequently. Recent flagship phones from Samsung, Google, and Apple are known for their built-in anti-glare displays.

To protect your hardware, invest in rugged cases that can withstand drops and impacts. Several shock-absorbing cases can also provide additional protection to the body of your gadget.

Prepare Dry Bags, Floating Cases

If you are scheduled to do activities near water or in the water, make sure to secure your gadgets in waterproof dry bags or pouches. These are advisable for kayaking, jet ski riding, and more.

Floating cases can also add protection to the device, especially if you are boating or rafting. The special case will prevent the device from sinking below the water in case of accidental falling.

Avoid Extreme Temperature

Even with certain accessories, you should never take your devices out of direct sunlight for a long period of time. You should never leave your devices inside your cars as they can overheat and cause damage to the batteries.

If you go outside, make sure to prepare a shade where you can relax your devices for a while. Make sure to give them a resting period. You can also add cooling fans to help in gradually decreasing temperature.

Secure Device Insurance

Device manufacturers often offer insurance for certain gadgets like smartphones and tablets. However, they come at a certain price for a specific duration. If you are using your device constantly, you should consider purchasing insurance against accidental damage.
