Google announced that every Chromebook Plus purchase will now come with a free 12-month subscription to Google One AI Premium, along with a discounted price for the hardware.
Chromebook Plus was first announced last October which featured major ChromeOS upgrades and AI-powered tools for only $399.
Chromebook Plus Customers to Receive Google One AI Premium Subscription
Subscribers of Google One AI Premium are entitled to access Gemini Advanced and Gemini in Workspace. This includes advanced AI tools on Gmail, Drive, Docs, and more due to the Gemini 1.5 Pro.
The subscription can be bought for $240 but it now comes as an exclusive freebie for the Chromebook Plus. Users who participated in the 2-month trial and/or already paying for the subscription are also entitled to the offer.
"Through the end of the year, we're also offering new Chromebook Plus owners free 12 months of the Google One AI Premium plan, which includes access to Gemini Advanced, Gemini for Workspace, 2TB of storage, and more," Google announced.
ChromeOS Debuts Advanced Productivity Features
The latest ChromeOS is now capable of various AI-powered tools that can be used to boost productivity and personal space. For instance, users can utilize generative wallpapers during video conference calls.
Moreover, there is also a tool that allows users to rewrite a selected text or enter a prompt. There are also other options like Rephrase, Emojify, Shorten, Formalize, and Elaborate to make the generative texts more appropriate.
The Calendar app was also revamped and now includes Google Task integration on top of the monthly view. The Launcher search also utilizes optical character recognition for downloaded images.
Chromebook Plus with 12 months of Google One AI Premium is now available for only $349 for its base price.
